It wouldn't have been a problem, really. I don't do tools (at least not yet), but I have grown quite attached to the work bench in the garage. It was the perfect place for potting my flowers in the spring.
Hubby must have known how sad I was to lose 'my space'-because several days later, he had a surprise for me.
Are you ready for a magic show?
Now you see it.....
And now you don't!!!
Pretty ingenious-right? A potting table that can be tucked out of the way-when it isn't in use! Okay-I'll admit-it isn't one of those fancy potting benches I've always dreamed of. In fact-when hubby first showed me his creation, he even jokingly called it the-'redneck' version of a potting bench.
It is rustic, and a BIT simple-but, I can't deny it works perfectly for my needs. (Sorry, hubby did this on the sly-so I wasn't able to take any pic's, and when asked if he could supply a tutorial, his response was, and I quote, "I used the wood from the old work bench, some metal from an old cable reel I had, and some hinges from the old corn crib door."
Regardless how simple it was to put together, the thing that impresses me most, is where hubby installed it!!!
The back of my garden shed is the perfect place for a potting table. It receives morning sun, yet is shady during the hot summer afternoons. Unfortunately, it is not a perfect location for a stationary potting bench, since we have plans to finish landscaping this area in the summer.
So, having the ability to tuck my potting table away-was the perfect solution!
Once my new potting table was revealed, I gave it a coat of paint and poly, and added a few of my own touches, that are sure to motivate me into potting a LOT of flowers.
And an old window is the perfect place to display one of my favorite sayings!
It was such a beautiful day today, that I finished plantting the rest of my herbs this afternoon on my new potting table!
Oregano-Parsley, Rosemary and.....
And some Thyme and Basil too!
Thank you HUBBY! Now I don't feel so bad that I was shoved out of the garage! Truth is-I'm very, very glad I was! :)
I hope your enjoying spring planting!
Happy Tuesday!
