I received this as a birthday gift from my daughter, Mel, several years ago.
Now, don't get me wrong. I absolutely loved it then-and do now. It's unique. I mean-who thinks of these things? Making something out of old vases and china-how creative! But, a garden decoration? Out of glass? Hmmm...... I don't know about that.
There lies the problem. How could I put something so precious-given to me by someone even more precious-and take the chance that it might get broke? (Can you say hail storm?) It was that thought-as well as, imagining squirrels climbing up on it-made it impossible for me to use it for what it was intended for.
So, instead, I placed it on a shelf in our sun porch. Day's went by and still couldn't figure out what to do with it. There wasn't enough depth for it to be a plant stand-and when I tried to put lemons on it (did I tell you I am obsessed with lemons?)-they either rolled off-or didn't fit.
Days went by, and then months-and finally....yes, years. The only attention this charming, unique, present got, was a quick swipe of my dust cloth.
Until today!
Hello jewelery storage!
The dishes were the perfect depth to display my necklaces. And because I didn't want them to get tangled (UGH!)-I draped some of them down the sides! It reminded me of a fountain. Hey-wait...where do fountains go-YES!!! They go in the garden!!!!
The little dish on top was the perfect size to hold my chunky necklaces !
Mel will be so proud that her mummy is so clever! Or, more like it-that I'm finally using her gift!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!!
