A Simple-Nature Inspired Thanksgiving Tablescape!

This year I'm hosting my family for Thanksgiving dinner
and I couldn't be more excited!

I'm so very grateful, that after so many months
we will all finally be able to come together
for this joyous occasion!

And on top of that-we will have a VERY special
new addition that we can share
all of our wonderful family traditions with!

The moment I found out we were hosting-I quickly began planning the menu,
as well as the tablescape.
For the centerpiece-I wanted something simple and nature inspired.
I also didn't want to spend a ton of money-so I used what
I already had.
A few pumpkins-colorful corn, pine cones-wheat and corn stalks!
I also incorporated a few thrift store finds, like the pedestal and white
pitchers.
The table setting is no fuss too!  I chose not to use placemats
or a charger-and instead simply stacked a couple of white
plates and added a little bling with gold trimmed salad plates
also found at a thrift store!
I topped them with white napkins tied with raffia and
and wood slice name tags that I picked up at Target for $1!

I'm sure my little grandson won't care much about how
pretty the table is-but I bet he's going to LOVE
all the YUMMY goodies that have stood the
test of time for our family Thanksgiving!

Like lefse!
I'm not Norwegian- but my step papa was-as are
many in our neck of the woods-so
lefse has always been a tradition at every holiday get together!
For those of you not familiar with this DELICIOUS flat bread-
it's made from potatoes (and flour, etc)-rolled out very thin-and grilled
to perfection!  Everyone in our family has a different
way of eating it-but it's normally covered in butter and sugar, rolled
up and gobbled down quickly!
Of course there will also be pie! Max probably won't be able
to have this sugary sweet treat (French Apple Pie)
but I bet his mom will let him dig into a piece of Pumpkin Pie!
And once that precious little boy is filled up with this YUMMY feast, he'll be ready
for a nap- and I plan on putting
that old rocker (my great grandpa's) to good use-and
share more of our family traditions, until he falls fast
asleep!
Obviously this table is not big enough for the entire family-so I'll be setting
up another one just like it for the rest of the gang!

What are you thankful for this year?  Leave me a comment or shoot me an email!
I'd love to hear!

Blessings and hugs,

Let's keep in touch!

I am thankful for a 2 1/2 week trip to Asheville that we just came back from. we stayed at my daughter and hubbies home while they were away for 9 days and then we got to visit with them for a week when they returned We have never been away from home that long, and it was a great way to celebrate our 45th Anniversary...........and as much
fun as we had, we were happy to be home again............

Happy Thanksgiving, she will be here soon!
    Blessings, Nellie
