As you all probably know by now, I love ALL things simple. This is especially true in the kitchen. Recipes that take little time-with ingredients I already have, AND taste delicious, are definitely a true blessing in my book.
Add to that-a versatile recipe that can be used in several dishes....and I'm in cooking heaven!!!
This weekend I was lucky enough to find just such a recipe-and thank goodness I did, because I found myself in quite a dilemma.
It all started when I found hubby scrounging around the kitchen looking for chocolate. Usually a few chocolate chips will suffice his craving-but this time they just weren't enough!
Take it from me-chocolate cravings are serious business in our house. They don't happen often-but when they do...watch out. Things can get pretty ugly if they aren't satisfied.
But hubby's chocolate craving wasn't my only dilemma! I was busy making up a care package for Dad L, while Mom was in the hospital, and I was running out of ideas, AND ingredients to make him a 'special' treat to go along with the lasagna I made.
And then there was the potluck on Sunday. Why on earth had I promised to bring a YUMMY Valentines dessert?
It was desperate times folks.
And I knew exactly what I had to do. Of course #1 was getting hubby out of the kitchen-which I was able to do, only after promising him a chocolaty delight would be his-VERY, VERY soon.
Thankfully, I was able to keep that promise.
These brownies are not only moist and decadent-they are also quick and easy!!! Delicious morsels all by their lonesome...........
Or add some vanilla ice cream-and some scrumptious Salted Caramel Sauce!!!
Now that I had hubby's chocolate craving taken care of-it was time to think about that dessert for the potluck.
This Chocolate-Cherry Trifle seemed like the perfect sweet treat for our potluck-and it too was SUPER easy to make. I simply layered the leftover brownies-chocolate pudding-cherry pie filling-and whipped cream-and VIOLA!
Last but not least-Dad L needed something for his sweet tooth..................and since we were meeting him at the hospital-whatever it was had to travel well.
What could be better than a mini trifle in mason jars???? Well....TWO mini-trifles in mason jars-that's what!!!
Another dilemma successfully solved with One very delicious-AND versatile homemade brownie recipe.....
And three sweet treats that are guaranteed to cure even the worst chocolate craving!!!
