So..... I did what any grateful wife would do..... I grabbed my arsenal of cookbooks, and scoured the many pages-praying for a recipe that not only called for ingredients I had on hand-but one that was quick and easy to make. (Of course-all hubby cared about was that the recipe involved dark chocolate-and LOTS of it!)
Twenty minutes later (and three cookbooks)-I FINALLY found a recipe that fit both our criteria!
With only seven ingredients-and a total time of 30 minutes to prep and bake-these Chocolate Chip-Peanut Butter Bars were so easy to make up-I hardly broke a sweat!!!
And hubby? Well, let's just say he didn't wait until these gooey chocolate treats had cooled down completely, before he gobbled them up!
Here's the recipe-ENJOY!!!
Chocolate Chip-Peanut Butter Bars
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter (1 stick-melted)
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips +2 tablespoons
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Line an 8x8 baking pan with foil. Spray foil with cooking spray.
Combine butter, peanut butter, egg and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth. Add vanilla. Stir in flour-mixing until combined (Don't over mix). Stir in chocolate chips (except for the 2 tablespoons). Pour into foil lined pan. Sprinkle with remaining chips. Bake for 20-25, or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Let bars cool completely before cutting.
Makes 12 bars.
Have an awesome Monday!!!
Blessings,
Christine
