Celebrations-Challenges-and Changes!

For those of you who have been following for awhile-you will remember I announced some pretty special news back in June.  For those who are new to the blog- I'll let you in on the little secret-I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!!!
Okay, it's not really a secret anymore-but you probably have noticed that I haven't talked much about this joyous event, here on the blog.

For someone who is VERY close to her daughter (we talk twice a day), and OVER THE MOON excited to be a grandma, it hasn't been easy remaining mum about something so amazing as our precious addition to the family.

Unfortunately, what should be one of the happiest times in my daughter's life-has been overshadowed by an ongoing health issue, and more recently, a new, very serious one.

Mel has battled with severe back pain, as well as peripheral neuropathy, ever since she was in a car accident over ten years ago.  Up until the pregnancy, she was able to treat both with medication-and carry on a normal (if there is such a thing) life.  Of course, that is not possible now, nor will it be after giving birth, since she plans to breastfeed.   It has been a challenge for her to find ways to overcome the debilitating pain, but she has found some comfort by seeing a chiropractor on a bi-monthly basis.

Now she will be facing yet another challenge, since she was just recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

As her mother, it is both heart wrenching and frustrating, to see Mel suffer through these health concerns, and be able to do little or nothing to help her.

The good news in all of this is-Mel is very strong, and her determination to overcome these challenges with her health, is even stronger.  She is currently monitoring her blood sugar daily-resuming her exercise regime, and watching very closely what she eats.

It is difficult times like these-where I am reminded of how important my faith in the Good Lord is-and how deeply I appreciate the support of my family and friends.

Which is why this weekend our family plans to throw Mel and Andy a party in celebration of the precious little bundle whose will soon be joining us in January!  In preparation for that-I have decided to take the rest of the week off from work and blogging-and devote all of my time to making this a party that neither of them will ever forget!!

I promise to be back on Monday-and to share many photo's of this happy event.

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that I will be making a few changes to the blog.  If all works as it should, by next week, the blog will be moved to it's own domain- cd'scountryliving.com.

Once the BIG move has been made-I will be announcing some additional changes that I am VERY excited about!!!

I want to thank you all for your love and support through this new adventure I've begun.  Your comments bring me so much joy when I read them-and brighten up each and every day!

Wishing you all an amazing rest of your week and weekend-and I'll see you back here on Monday!

Blessings,

Christine
