Foyer Facelift!

As I stated in Monday's post, the antique washstand that I made over, has finally found a new home in our foyer!
 Foyer Before

Recently, I gave our plain and boring foyer a bit of a face-lift.

A fresh coat of paint did wonders!

I even made a feature wall by adding a few stripes!!!

After adding a few old and 'new' items......

The foyer was starting to feel warm and welcoming.

And every time I walked through the front door, I couldn't help but smile.

Umbrella's are always on hand for a rainy day.

And a place to hang a sunhat or a pair of flip flops for all those sunshine filled days!

The hallway leading to the kitchen is next........

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get past the 'fear' stage, when it comes to the staircase in the foyer.  I REALLY, REALLY want to see what is under that icky carpet, but I'm also afraid to find out what IS under it!

I think I will hold off and get the dining room done first! (Good excuse-right?)

Speaking of that- (the dining room I mean)- I know I promised I wouldn't post anything about the dining room makeover until I actually had something other than painted walls to show you.  Well...........I do!  I'll be posting all about it tomorrow!!

BTW, I'm linking up with:
