Since the dining room requires only 'cosmetic' updates, I thought I would begin there.
First-let me show you what we have to work with.
Currently the wall color is beige, and the chair rail is a dark taupe. (BORING!)
One of the big +'s in this room-is all the light this window provides! (The drapes need to go!)
The floor is the only thing in the room that is staying-as is. I love the warm honey tone!
So, now that we agree our dining room needs to be updated- how about we check out that inspiration room I found!

I found this photo on Pinterest, and immediately fell in love! This is exactly what I envisioned our space to look like-Cottage Chic!!! (I advise you to check out the above blog-as Rene', the owner of this beautiful dining room, designed it herself!!!) I've already book marked her site, and plan on revisiting soon!
Painting the chair rail and trim- this crisp, clean white-would do wonders in brightening up the room!!!

Rene' was even kind enough to share the wall color she used, as well as,
the sheen! I haven't decided 100% on this, or any color-but a big
THANK YOU-to Rene' for giving me some great ideas!
I also have a built in that needs some major overhauling! After an hour of research-here are two ideas that I found.

See these UGLY doors? Now, imagine them white-(I don't like the blue) with the inserts filled with a pretty patterned wallpaper! Are you seeing my vision here? That's right. Tie the hutch in with the trim and chair rail from the inspiration room! But...my future plan is to display some of my antique dishes. Some of them our white-so I would really like something to make them stand out.
So, what about putting some wallpaper on the back panels of the hutch! Like this!

Well, almost. I still need to decide what wall color I want to go with. Like I said-I'm not sure about the color in the inspiration room. And of course-what color/pattern of wallpaper should I choose. There is so much to think about, and this is just ONE room! I have three other rooms to get inspired about!
I'd love to hear your advice or ideas! I could use all the help I can get!!! Until tomorrow!
