Winter Wonderland Christmas Mantel!

Hello dear friends!!!  I hope you all enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful weekend!!!

I sure have missed you all these last five days-but I truly needed to just step away from the blog and really my computer-and spend some quality time with my hubby and family.

But I'm back now, all rested up-and so excited, because I spent some of my time this weekend finishing up my Christmas decorating!!!  And guess what?  This is the first year I get to share it with you!!!

YIPPEE!!!

Since I recently gave my old laminate fireplace a makeover- and I'm so thrilled that I actually have a mantel to decorate now-I thought I'd start there!!!

Initially, I wanted a simple and natural look for the mantel........

But then I found an old sleigh that I purchased years ago at Michael's in one of my (many) Christmas boxes, and I scratched that idea, deciding on something  a bit....whimsical.

I began by filling the sleigh with greenery, sparkling silver ball ornaments, and frosted pine cones.

Then I placed the glass deer that Mom L bought me for Christmas a few years ago-on either side of the sled.  For that bit of whimsy-I tied a piece of glittery garland around their necks.  I love how the garland looks like a feather boa!   I also added two bottle brush trees in pots and a silver candlestick.

The final touch was adding a pop of red with the beautiful vintage bird that a dear friend gave to me years ago, along with more silver ornaments and a few white snowflakes.

I'll be sharing more of my Christmas decorating later this week!

Until then- I'm linking up to these amazing parties so stop on over and be inspired!!!!

Blessings,

Christine
