Fall Tablescape!

Hubby and I had friends over this last weekend for an early fall brunch!  Nothing fancy-just a casual affair-but even so, I wanted it to be special.

I started by putting some touches of fall in the dining room.

Next- was figuring out the menu.  I wanted something delicious-yet something I could prepare in advance so I wasn't spending all my time in the kitchen that morning.

I decided on an old favorite- Sausage Quiche, which is quick and easy to prepare, and can be made the night before.  I also whipped up a batch of  Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins that night.  All I had left to do the morning of the brunch was cut up some fresh fruit and throw some red potatoes and peppers in the oven!

Last but not least-I wanted to create a beautiful-yet budget friendly, centerpiece and tablescape.

I already had an idea in my head of how I wanted the table to look-so I started shopping around the house (and outside), and began the process of putting it all together.

It took three attempts-but in the end-I was OVER THE MOON happy with how it all turned out!!

Simple-rustic-neutral(which is exactly what I wanted) and super budget friendly-because I already had everything!

I absolutely love the drift wood look of my dining room table-so I'm all for not covering it up-when I can!  Since this was a casual brunch for friends-I let it's beauty shine!

A few weeks ago-my niece, Amanda and I went on a nature drive (she's even more impatient then hubby, btw!)-but she did let me jump out of the car when I saw a bunch of pampas grass on the side of the road.  It's one of my favorites!

I'm in love with the rustic look of the grey-green pumpkin-and since I had a plethora (I love that word!) of hydrangeas this year-it was a no-brainer to tuck a few of these lovely blooms into the centerpiece.

I took these photo's the morning of the brunch-when the sun was just starting to peek in the window!  I just loved how warm and inviting my table looked.  Even the white on white dishes seem to pop with the little touch of gold.  Yet, I couldn't help thinking that something was missing!

After adding the gold chargers and wrapping the napkins with burlap-I had just enough time to snap a photo or two-before are guests arrived!!!  Talk about last minute decorating!!!

Oh well!  It made for fun conversation-and our friends felt pretty special!  That's all that really matters- right?

I'll be linking up today at these amazing parties-so stop over and be inspired!!!

Blessings,

Christine

  2. Very pretty! I love that green pumpkin...is it real? There are some funky pumpkins out there this year and I love them! The colors with the hydrangea against your table is just so elegant. I would feel very special coming to brunch at your house! I am very envious of your hydrangeas. I didn't get one bloom this year...not one. I am not the only one in my area that happened too...not sure why!
